Astana to host Kazakhstan’s first UEFA C&B course for former professional players
From 29 to 31 May 2026, Astana will host the first module of the UEFA C&B course for former and current professional players. The programme is a new educational initiative launched by the Kazakhstan Football Federation specifically for players with extensive professional experience.

The course is organised by the Technical Centre of the Kazakhstan Football Federation as part of the development of the coaching education system in line with the requirements of the UEFA Coaching Convention.

The programme is designed for players with extensive professional experience who are beginning their coaching journey. The main objective of the course is to help participants successfully transition from players to modern coaches, while also providing them with fundamental competencies in training organisation, player development and team management.

The philosophy of the course is based on modern UEFA principles, with the player placed at the centre of the learning process and education delivered through game-related situations. The programme focuses on developing decision-making skills, learning in a real football environment and shaping a modern coaching mindset.

During the first module, participants will study the philosophy, structure and requirements of the course, the profile of a modern coach, methods for teaching football technique, technical and tactical interaction in small groups, as well as training session planning. The module includes theoretical classes, practical on-pitch work, interaction in small groups, training presentations and reflection sessions.

The launch of the UEFA C&B course marks an important step in the development of the national coaching education system and expands opportunities for former players to continue their careers in football in a new role.

Among the participants of the course are well-known Kazakhstani players: Bagdat Kairov, Stas Pokatilov, Alibek Buleshev, Andrey Shabanov, Vladimir Plotnikov, Marat Shakhmetov, Sergey Malyy, Timur Dosmagambetov, Nikita Kalmykov, Nurlan Dairov, Aidos Tattybayev, Sergey Gridin, Artur Shushenachev, Temirlan Yerlanov, Igor Trofimets, Arman Kenesov, Serikzhan Muzhikov, Adilkhan Tanzharikov, Georgiy Zakharenko, Mikhail Gabyshev, Bauyrzhan Islamkhan, Alisher Tazhibayuly and Dauren Kairalliyev.
