Construction of a 10,000-Seat Stadium Begins in Kokshetau
The ceremonial event was attended by Akim of Akmola Region Marat Akhmetzhanov, Akim of Kokshetau and President of the Regional Football Federation Anuar Kumpekeyev, Acting General Secretary of the Kazakhstan Football Federation Alexander Keplin, as well as local residents.
The regional akim noted that the project is being implemented following directives from President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during his working visit to the region in September 2025.
“Football remains one of the most popular sports in the country. The construction launched today will allow our city to host national and international competitions, including youth national team matches and finals of national tournaments,” said Marat Akhmetzhanov.
The project will include modern infrastructure in line with UEFA Category 4 (the highest) requirements, including comfortable stands, sanitary facilities, food courts, and full accessibility for people with disabilities. In addition, a full-scale training base for the football club Okzhetpes will be built.
